Catmint (Nepeta Cataria) also known as Catnip, belongs to the lip flower family and is therefore related to mint, among others. Catnip is best known for its effect on felines. The plant puts the creatures in a remarkable state of intense happiness.
The blissful feeling that cats get from Catmint is not present in humans. However, catnip does have other positive effects on the body such as calming and soothing properties and is often used to relax.
